About
Raised in Florida, Tara Thompson is a self-taught documentary and fine arts photographer. Influenced by her former career in environmental conservation, Tara’s work documents the stories of our communities and the ways in which people create a sense of place through connections to landscapes.
“Photography is a form of alchemy with the power to inform and inspire. I want to make photographs that tell stories, ask questions, and remind us that we are all connected,” says Tara. “A strong image has the power to move us beyond ourselves and into another moment, becoming a catalyst for change.”
Based in Nashville, Tara is a independent photographer who is currently working on a personal project, Tracing the Edges, to document coastal communities and changing coastal landscapes.
